The Ryman Auditorium is known world-wide as the Mother Church of Country Music. But many fans and scholars have long known the former home of the Grand Ole Opry enjoys a more specific status as the birthplace of bluegrass. Last week, music greats gathered to unveil a historical marker that recognizes that accomplishment and its far reaching consequences. WPLN’s Craig Havighurst reports.
