Throughout this year’s campaign, we’ve been interviewing the candidates for statewide office. This week, we talk to Phil Bredesen, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate.
Over a political career that’s included Nashville mayor and governor of Tennessee, Bredesen has developed a reputation for working with Republicans. And if elected to the Senate, he says he’d continue to look for ways to compromise — even on hot-button topics like immigration.
Bredesen recently sat down with WPLN’s Chas Sisk and Sergio Martínez-Beltrán to talk about that and other big issues from the race.
One side note: We also extended numerous invitations to Bredesen’s opponent, Republican Congressman Marsha Blackburn. So far, her campaign has not responded.
