Metro is seeking input about the three new nature centers scheduled to open May of next year.
The centers will be built in Shelby Bottoms, Beaman, and Bells Bend parks as a part of Mayor Bill Purcell’s Master Plan for Parks and Greenways.
Seventy-four-year-old Bill Coble has lived in Tennessee all his life and hopes to attend Thursday’s meeting. He wants to share his ideas about the center near his home in Bells Bend.
“If this park is completed along the projected ideas that we have, it will be the only park in Davidson County where you can take you son or daughter and go camping—the only place, and it is important that that word is spread.”
The four nature-center-network will share characteristics such as classrooms and historic sections, but also will have unique qualities that emphasize each local environment.
The meeting is at 6:30 Thursday evening at the Warner Park Nature Center, which is currently the only nature center in Davidson County.
