Workers at the Nashville Vought plant have approved a new contract, but they didn’t feel like they had much choice.
Workers at Vought agreed last night to end their strike, with 71 percent of the 900 workers voting to approve the new contract.
Brian McKnight wasn’t happy with the deal, but said it was time to get back to work.
“We’re not voting for the contract, we’re voting for our jobs. If we didn’t accept this contract, they’re more than willing to replace us, and there’s enough people out of work in this economy that they could’ve done that.”
The contract means accepting a move from a pension plan to 401(k) plan. The workers had been on strike since their old contract expired in September.
