One of Nashville’s newest, work-in-progress regional parks is Mill Ridge Park in the Antioch area. It’s so new that its amphitheater and playground are still under construction.
Yet traditions are already forming — like free “Kite Fest” flying events every Saturday through October (details here).
I’ve now visited the park three times, and have appreciated the warm welcome extended to everyone by Darrell Hawks, executive director of the Friends of Mill Ridge Park.
For this audio postcard, my daughter Lillian and I try to handle the wind gusts and end up chasing down a rogue kite with fellow flyer Mojaad Lawal and his two sons.
