For Elizabeth Underwood Grant and her husband Brian, it led to a funny-and-awkward incident at the dinner table. The two shared that moment at StoryCorps in Nashville.
When she was 26, Elizabeth was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that spread from her ovaries to her ribs. She remembers a night early in her treatment, when she was in the kitchen making meat loaf.
