Harold Mason, WWII Veteran, Third Army
He was quickly drafted into the Army and went from mapping the Mississippi River to mapping the beaches of Normandy and other Allied targets. One of the maps he drew was for his own unit’s invasion of Italy.
There are 51,000 World War II veterans living in Tennessee. Harold Mason is one six Nashvillians photographed for a new book titled, “The Last Good War.”
