Before I-65, Dickerson Pike/US 41 was the main road between Louisville and Nashville, and the vintage signs of the pike’s motels are the most striking sights on the street. They recall a time before interstate freeways homogenized regional cultures, and they remind me of how exciting it must have been to be a tourist, a business man or even a wannabe country star arriving in Nashville for the very first time after a long, slow drive.

Nashville’s Smallest Arts Nonprofit Just Got The Biggest Metro Funding Boost

Listen After several years of unsuccessful lobbying, Nashville’s arts organizations are celebrating a boost in Metro government funding. Every group that was approved for a grant will get more this year — with some increases of 50 percent, 100 percent, or even 300 percent.

Watkins’ Oldest Alumna Uses Career In Sales To Fuel Artistic Drive

Clark was successful as a songwriter but might be best remembered as a mentor: Generations of troubadours counted Clark as a major influence and called on him for advice at his Nashville home.

TPAC’s Broadway Schedule Includes Locally Produced ‘Evita’ Revival
