Tennessee officers accused of shielding a man committing sex crimes. Police deny extortion.

A federal lawsuit claims police officers in a Tennessee city were paid off to obstruct any efforts to investigate sexual assault allegations against a man that included multiple victims over several years. The Johnson City Police Department has denied the accusation.

Tennessee governor OKs penalizing adults who help minors receive abortions, gender-affirming care

3 dead after small plane crashes in Williamson County

Williamson County Chief Deputy Mark Elrod told reporters that the plane had left Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and was headed to Louisville, Kentucky, but crashed in Tennessee near Leiper’s Fork around noon on Wednesday.

Nashville SC fires coach Gary Smith after 3-4-5 start in seventh season

Tennessee governor OKs bill allowing death penalty for child rape convictions

With artificial intelligence, country music star Randy Travis has his voice back. In 2013, the Travis was hospitalized with viral cardiomyopathy and later suffered a stroke. He now has aphasia, a condition that limits his ability to speak. It’s why his wife Mary Travis assists him in interviews. It’s also why he hasn’t released new music in over a decade, until now.

Pope Francis appoints new bishop in Tennessee after former bishop’s resignation under pressure

Pope Francis has appointed Reverend James Mark Beckman as Bishop of Knoxville, Tennessee, almost a year after the previous bishop resigned following claims he mishandled sex abuse allegations. Bishop-elect Beckman is a priest of the Diocese of Nashville where he has served as pastor of Saint Henry parish since 2015.

Tennessee Volkswagen employees overwhelmingly vote to join United Auto Workers union
