  • June-July: WPLN News will deliver a series of stories answering citizen-centered questions and a voter's guide
  • August: A runoff special episode of This Is Nashville featuring the final two candidates

The number of people who threw their hats in the ring for Nashville mayor skyrocketed after current Mayor John Cooper announced he’s not running for re-election. There are 12 candidates vying for the position ahead of the Aug. 3 election. The ballot will include a state representative, Metro councilmember, and a former mayor of Oak Hill.
