Nashville humanitarian and founder of Room In The Inn Charles Strobel dies at 80 years old

It was a cold winter night in 1985 when Father Charles Strobel invited the unhoused people sleeping in the church parking lot inside his parish. That act was the seed that one of Nashville’s most well-known shelters — Room In The Inn — grew from.

Beloved character actor and Tennessee native Leslie Jordan dies at 67

Actor Leslie Jordan

Jordan was best known for his role on “Will and Grace.” But he also built a sizable social media following during the pandemic, posting silly, homemade videos to his 5 million followers.  In addition to jokes and entertainment gossip, Jordan posted a recurring feature titled “Sunday Mornin’ Hymn Singin'” in which he would sing hymns from his childhood.
