Spouses whose loved one died in a workplace accident could see an increase in workers’ compensation benefits

Under the state’s workers’ compensation laws, if your husband or wife dies while at work, you can get up to half of their average weekly pay. A Tennessee lawmaker wants to increase that to two-thirds.

If Ford’s Blue Oval City fails, Tennessee could get back some of its incentive money

Ford must hire and maintain at least 90% of the nearly 5,800 jobs it’s promising for the decade following the accountability agreement. If not, the company faces clawbacks thanks to state legislation passed after the failure of the Clarksville Hemlock Semiconductor plant.

More GOP Lawmakers Call For Special Meeting To Discuss Future Of Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada

At least 10 Republican lawmakers in Tennessee have publicly called for a caucus meeting to discuss the fate of House Speaker Glen Casada. According to GOP Caucus bylaws, that’s the minimum number of lawmakers needed to trigger a special meeting.
