Maury County tornado survivors reflect on deadly storm that struck with little notice

Tennessee farms report storm damage, including flooded crops and livestock struck by lightning

Last week’s deadly storms hit rural areas of Middle Tennessee hard, including many farms. The damages include cattle washed away, hundreds of thousands of dollars of crops flooded, barn roofs torn up and fences knocked down by fallen trees. There have even been reports of livestock struck by lightning.

National Weather Service warns all Middle Tennesseans: Prepare for severe storms Tuesday

The National Weather Service says it’s confident that a line of severe thunderstorms will hit Middle Tennessee on Tuesday afternoon. The entire region faces a high risk for unusually severe weather, including winds up to 60 mph and hail the size of ping pong balls.
