Justin Jones is reappointed to Tennessee House seat, just days after expulsion

At least 30 members of Nashville’s Metro Council have released statements declaring their intent to vote Jones back into the District 52 seat. He will need a simple majority of the 40-member council to reclaim it.

Tennessee House Republicans expel 2 young Black Democrats for gun protests after Covenant School shooting

Protesters are gathering Thursday morning ahead of the vote to expel three Democratic lawmakers. The Democrats are accused of disrupting House proceedings to call for new gun laws following a deadly mass shooting at the Covenant School.
