A new TPAC is closer to reality, but Metro still must decide how it fits into Nashville’s East Bank development

A new Tennessee Performing Arts Center is one step closer to reality. The State Building Commission approved $200 million for the project. Metro officials and TPAC are in talks to see if it can be constructed in East Bank, the same area that will house the new Titans Stadium.

Local actors join Broadway stars to perform Elton John’s musical ‘AIDA’ at TPAC

Nutty Professor Producers Say Hamlisch Left Completed Score

The old adage “the show must go on” is particularly true this week for The Nutty Professor. Its composer, Marvin Hamlisch, died suddenly Tuesday. That means one less voice on the creative team that’s putting final touches on the musical in Nashville before trying to take it to Broadway.
