The window is closing soon for Tennesseans impacted by the January ice storm to apply for FEMA aid. The deadline is June 10th.
So far, the federal agency has given out nearly $24 million to more than 10,500 applicants.
The money can reimburse people for disaster-related expenses, including temporary lodging and home repairs. It can also go toward medical bills and transportation related to storm injuries.
This level of assistance was approved in April for people in 29 counties. It is in addition to several million dollars being given to local governments and rescue nonprofits. Additional details are online from FEMA here. Applications can be filed online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
Metro-specific resources, meanwhile, are detailed here.
