DCCC Shows Interest in DesJarlais Race

Democrats in Washington see a new opening to unseat freshman Rep. Scott DesJarlais, who has been dealing with new revelations from a decade-old divorce.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has put Tennessee’s 4th District on its “Red to Blue” list. That could mean the organization is poised to spend money in support of state Senator Eric Stewart. The Democrat’s campaign has released internal polling that shows he is catching up to DesJarlais.

The Republican Congressional Committee got involved two years ago to help DesJarlais upset Democratic incumbent Lincoln Davis.

Before a two-year radio hiatus with a Nashville-based healthcare company, Blake was one of the country’s most prolific healthcare audio journalists. He produced stories for both local and national programs, extending the reach of his reporting through a partnership with KFF Health News. Outside of work, Blake can be found running or biking on roads that other Nashvillians consider too busy for such activities. So far, he has always made it home to his wife of 20 years and two children.
