Why Nashville Wants To Buy And Bulldoze More Flood-Prone Homes Along The Cumberland

They’re pitching the expense as a balance to the $110 million they hope to spend on a floodwall to protect downtown. The African American Music Museum Hasn’t Been Built Yet, But Its First Exhibit Just Launched

Police Pledge To Protect Nashville Pride Festival With ‘Highly Visible Presence’

Listen Metro Police will have more of their blue lights surrounding rainbow flags in upcoming gay pride events. At a vigil held this week, there was an overwhelming number of police cars — nearly bumper-to-bumper around the Public Square. Police say they will have the same visible presence for Nashville’s Pride Festival next weekend.

Named A ‘Promise Zone,’ Nashville To Get Federal Volunteers And Grant Money To Fight Poverty

  Listen When Nashville applies for certain federal grants, its applications will now be moved to the top of the pile. Officials announced Monday that the city was named one of thirteen federal “Promise Zones,” a distinction created by President Obama to give federal aid to fight poverty and crime.
