US Attorney Warns of Church-based Fraud Schemes

The Department of Justice is seeing more church-based investment fraud in the Nashville area and a rise in financial schemes more generally. This year, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee has made indictments totaling $60 million.

Dolly Cuts Ties with Gaylord

Dolly Parton has pulled the plug on a $50 million theme park that was announced earlier this year. She blames the partner in the joint venture – Gaylord Entertainment – which has restructured since plans for the attraction were made public.

Civil Rights Attorney Vows to Keep Fighting Voter ID Law

One of Nashville’s most prominent civil rights attorneys is vowing to keep up his fight against a new voter ID law. This week a state court ruled Tennessee’s requirement for photo ID is constitutional. A federal court ruled the same way in July.

House Democrats Back MNPS Board in Great Hearts Dispute

Democrats in the state House want a meeting with the Education Commissioner to ask that he rethink penalizing Metro Schools by $3.4 million. If the state follows through with the fine, they say the penalty should be “challenged, possibly in court.”

Body Armor for Her Shields Frontline Females
