COVID Was Bad, But In Nashville Drug Overdoses Were Deadlier in 2020

While COVID-19 claimed hundreds of lives in Nashville last year, drug overdoses killed even more people. Fatalities related to drugs spiked by nearly one-third compared to 2019, which was already a record year.

Federal prosecutors have released an affidavit outlining how they identified 30-year-old Eric Munchel of Nashville as a participant in the mob storming of the U.S. Capitol last week. He was arrested Sunday by federal agents and charged with unlawfully entering the building and disrupting Congress.

Nashville Man Photographed With Zip Ties In Capitol Invasion Arrested On Federal Charge

FBI agents arrested a man in Nashville on Sunday for helping lead the mob that invaded the U.S. Capitol last week. Eric Gavelek Munchel, 30, is charged with unlawful entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, according to a statement from the U.S. Justice Department.
