Richard Land Radio Program Cancelled After Trayvon Martin Remarks

The Southern Baptist Convention has cancelled a radio call-in show hosted by Richard Land. The denomination has also reprimanded Land for racially charged comments he made after the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Michael Phelps Makes Long Odds Longer for Olympic Team Hopefuls

Swimmers around the country are squeezing in their final training ahead of the Olympic trials later this month. For many, the dream of making the U.S. swim team has been what gets them out of bed for a pre-dawn practice. But at least on the men’s side of the pool, the superstars of swimming leave little room for anyone else.

Gaylord Hotels to Join Marriott “Machine”

Hotels owned by Gaylord Entertainment will soon become one of the 17 brands managed by Marriott International. Nashville-based Gaylord announced Thursday that it will sell the management rights for $210 million.

Movies in the Park on the Move

Organizers of “Movies in the Park” are relocating the 17-year-old event to the suburbs. Last year, Metro Police increased their presence at Nashville’s Centennial Park after several disturbances and gang related activity.

Nissan Cars Becoming More American

Dean to File Building Plan
