Medical Marijuana Bill Avoids Negative Rating

Terminally ill patients are a small step closer to being able to use medical marijuana. Instead of giving legislation a negative mark, today a bill was stamped with a “neutral” rating.

Advocates Of “Bottle Bill” Continue Push

Tuesday, a subcommittee in the Tennessee House of Representatives will continue its debate on the so-called “bottle bill.” The proposal would require a five-cent refundable deposit on beverages in aluminum cans or plastic and glass bottles.

Metro Surveys Parents, Staff On Later High School Start Times

Metro School officials are considering moving the start time for high schools to later in the morning. To gauge support from parents and staff, the district will be conducting an automated telephone survey Thursday.
