Early voting started without a hitch today in Nashville. Candidates for several offices including state legislature, school board and even the US senate were out shaking hands with voters.
Election administrator Ray Barrett says the new electronic machines have gotten a good response so far.
“That’s what surprised me. They’re really liking them. I never had any complaints about ‘em. We feel good about that.”
Williamson County however, had problems with their electronic machines. The ballots weren’t correct on the machines sent from the manufacturer, Electronic Systems and Software—the same company Davidson County is using. Williamson County voters will be using paper ballots through tomorrow morning and officials hope to have the machines running by Monday.
WPLN, in a story this morning, failed to elaborate that in addition to photo ID, poll workers will accept other forms of identification such as a voter registration card, a hunting or fishing license, or even a signed affidavit of a name and address.
Contact your county election commission for more information on proper forms of ID.
