Maryanne Woodward-Smith directs women’s care for the VA’s Tennessee Valley Healthcare System. She says for the first time, a variety of services ranging from obstetrics to mental health will be available in one place. She says the staff will also be all female so women feel comfortable.

Meharry Medical College is partnering with the VA to provide the medical care. The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System served nearly 8,000 women veterans this fiscal year.
