Former Tennessee Senator Bill Frist’s education reform group met in Nashville today to discuss teacher effectiveness.
Frist says it’s one of the most important issues.
“At the end of the day it’s very clear that we need to come to some sort of agreement on what teacher effectiveness is and then develop a compensation system that everybody seems open to, to make sure that we reward people who are very effective.”
Frist’s group, called SCORE, is bringing together stakeholders from across the state who deal in education issues. Mayor Karl Dean joined today’s meeting as did a representative from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.
