A high-end boutique hotel chain with ties to the Frist family will be part of Nashville’s newest skyscraper.
Developer of the 65-story signature tower, Tony Giarratana has chosen the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group to develop a 10-story, 200-room hotel for the building. The Frist family is an investor in the San Francisco-based Kimpton.
Tom Jurkovich is director of Metro’s economic development office. He says Nashville’s growing tourism market isn’t the only reason for a new luxury hotel.
“It’s going to be something which serves our tourism industry which as you know is a critical part of our city of its economy and particularly of our downtown, but also the business traveler. As it begins to recruit more and more headquarters to Nashville and as other businesses as the local economy continues to thrive, we have more and more business travelers looking for upscale hotels.”
Hotel Palomar will have amenities ranging from a spa and a 24-hour yoga channel to dog walking. The extra services will be available to condo owners as well on a fee-per-service basis.
Giarratana did not disclose any financial parameters involved in the deal, saying only that the hotel chain isn’t providing any financing for the 275-million dollar building.
