Early voting in Tennessee’s primary election ends Saturday, and turnout is already on track to beat previous records for the number of people voting early in a midterm primary.
The primary will likely determine Tennessee’s next governor, as the GOP winner is expected to sweep in the general election. U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn has led the race in polling, but recent numbers show that the gap could be narrowing between her and U.S. Rep. John Rose.

Voters can cast a ballot at any polling site during early voting but will be limited to their designated polling place on Primary Election Day, Thursday, Aug. 6. As more people vote early, Nashville has added more polling sites. Most sites close at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1.
