TSU Combs Through Dorms In Search Of Clues About Reported Shooting

Campus police at Tennessee State University have searched every room in the residence hall where shots were reportedly fired Monday afternoon.

According to university officials, one student has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting at Boyd Hall.  Authorities are looking for a second suspect.

University President Glenda Glover ordered the search, which she admitted came inconveniently during mid-term exams. But Glover says it was necessary to ensure the safety of the students and campus community.

During the search, school officials discovered other housing violations that they say will be dealt with according to dorm rules and university policy.

“It is our responsibility to invoke necessary procedures, and any and all legal measures to maintain a safe campus environment conducive for learning,” Glover said.
