How Roy Acuff’s Fiddle Made It From WWII Germany To Nashville’s Country Music Hall Of Fame

A fiddle found in a bombed music store in Frankfurt, Germany, during World War II has made its way to Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. When soldiers found the fiddle, they sent it to country music star Roy Acuff, whose music they listened to during their service.

Country music icon Kenny Rogers, whose hits included “Lucille,” “Lady” and “The Gambler,” died late Friday at his home in Sandy Springs, Ga., his family said in a statement. He was 81.

Roy Clark, ‘Hee Haw’ Host And Renowned Musician, Dies At 85

Roy Clark, one of the hosts of the country music variety show Hee Haw and a legendary Nashville musician, has died. Clark was 85 years old and died in Tulsa, Okla., of complications from pneumonia, according to his publicist.
