2023 is Tennessee’s 7th-deadliest year for tornadoes

Tornadoes directly killed 16 people this year in Tennessee. In the spring, there were 10 deaths during the March 31-April 1 tornado event in West Tennessee. There were also five deaths during the storm from straight-line winds, but the National Weather Service separates fatalities by the specific hazard.

Piping industry union fills generators for Tennessee and Kentucky residents without power

The Tennessee State Pipe Trades Association is giving more than 2,500 gallons of gas to people impacted by the tornadoes. The gas is helping fill the generators of homes from Southwest Kentucky to Northwest Tennessee.
