A car accident in small-town Tennessee leads to US charges against a major Mexican drug operation

Government sues Ticketmaster owner and asks court to break up company’s monopoly on live events

The Justice Department has sued Ticketmaster and its parent company, accusing them of running an illegal monopoly over live events in America. The complaint filed Thursday in Manhattan asks a court to break up the system that squelches competition and drives up prices for fans.

An Antioch Call Center Employee Blew The Whistle, And A Diabetes Supply Company Is Settling For $160M

The case revolved around mail-order diabetic testing supplies at one of the country’s largest companies sending patients testing strips and meters. The $160 million settlement — the largest ever reached in Nashville — came after a call center employee in Antioch tipped off federal investigators to potential Medicare fraud.

HCA, LifePoint Settle False Medicare Claims

The Justice Department has announced $34 million in fines against 55 hospitals for allegedly making false Medicare claims. Half of them are part of Nashville-based, for-profit hospital chains.
