Tennessee Democrats Celebrate Ruling On Absentee Voting For All

Tennessee Democratic lawmakers are celebrating a recent ruling that could allow universal absentee voting in the state. And they are pushing back against Republicans claiming the judge is legislating from the bench.

Tennessee House Votes To End License Requirement To Braid Hair

Tennesseans could soon go into hair-braiding without a cosmetology license from the state. The proposal (HB320/SB1185) passed the Tennessee House of Representatives Monday night mostly on a party line vote. Republicans generally support the measure, which they say will create jobs.

Abortion Rights Advocates Say Tennessee’s ‘Heartbeat Bill’ Appears To Have Momentum

Listen A Tennessee House committee is expected to consider a bill Tuesday that would ban abortions once a heartbeat has been detected. Abortion rights advocates fear the measure has more momentum than similar legislation introduced two years ago. That bill didn’t move forward after it was deemed “constitutionally suspect” by the state’s attorney general.
