Gov. Bill Lee is leading Republican governors around the country, asking Congress to end a COVID vaccine mandate for the military as recruitment and retention are suffering. So far, no Tennessee guardsmen have been discharged from their duties, but hundreds are still refusing to get the vaccine.

Tennessee Air Guard Flyovers Double As Delayed Training

The Tennessee Air National Guard is planning flyovers of hospitals and healthcare facilities across the state on Tuesday. They’re primarily meant to honor nurses, as many other flyovers have done. But Commander Jeff Holmes says his pilots also just need more seat time.

Police Eyeing Guard Drones for Drug Enforcement

Tennessee law enforcement agencies are eager to put military drones to civilian use, though it may be awhile. The Air National Guard’s 118th Wing based at Nashville International Airport is transitioning to a new mission involving unmanned aircraft.
