Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee Calls For Meeting To Consider Removal Of Bust Of Nathan Bedford Forrest

Tennessee officials are expected to take the first step toward removing the bust of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest from inside the Capitol. Gov. Bill Lee says he will convene the State Capitol Commission to meet and vote next week.

Tennessee Lawmakers Reject Renewed Effort To Move Polk’s Tomb From Capitol Grounds

Listen Tennessee lawmakers have narrowly rejected an effort to move the tomb containing the remains of James K. Polk and his wife, Sarah, putting an end for now to a two-year debate over what to do with the memorial to the nation’s 11th president.

After Years Of Resistance, Tennessee Lawmakers Will Allow Guns In Their New Building

Listen Gun owners will be allowed to carry when Tennessee lawmakers move into their new office building this month. House Speaker Beth Harwell and Senate Speaker Randy McNally announced the decision Wednesday. It will apply to anyone with a permit to carry a handgun.
