Workers at General Motors joint venture battery plant in Tennessee unionize and will get pay raise

Tennessee Volkswagen employees overwhelmingly vote to join United Auto Workers union

Workers at Tennessee Volkswagen factory ask for vote on representation by United Auto Workers union

Volkswagen’s factory in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is likely to be the first test of the United Auto Workers’ effort to organize nonunion automobile plants across the nation. The union said workers at the factory filed paperwork Monday with the National Labor Relations Board seeking a union representation election. Volkswagen said it respected the right of workers to determine who should represent them.

Nissan Asks The UAW To ‘Cease Their Efforts To Divide’ Workers After Failed Union Vote

Franklin-based Nissan North America wants the United Auto Workers to back off. Late Friday night, totals were released for the recent union election at Nissan’s plant in Canton, Miss., and workers voted 2-to-1 to reject UAW representation. Nissan said “the voice of Nissan employees have been heard.”
