Tennessee joins multi-state effort to deny medical treatment based on religious beliefs

White supremacists have made several appearances in Nashville over the past few weeks: marching with swastika flags, interrupting a Metro Council meeting and, last Saturday, screaming racial slurs at a group of young, Black boys who were playing drums downtown.

Building codes affect health and climate. A Tennessee bill would block cities from updating them.

Buildings are the fourth-largest source of climate pollution in the U.S. Many cities are tackling emissions with better energy codes, but a new bill in Tennessee would effectively block this policy tool — preventing cities from requiring developers to construct healthier and more efficient homes and buildings.

Tennessee Black Caucus Takes Issue With Casada’s Diversity Training Proposal
