As calls from students and other local gun reform activists intensify, Tennessee lawmakers are deferring action on gun legislation. And three Democratic legislators who’ve been outspoken advocates for change could now be expelled from office.

The age limit for permitless carry could drop to 18, as Tennessee’s AG sides with gun rights

Permitless carry, sometimes referred to as constitutional carry, allows an individual to carry a gun without undergoing background checks or training. In 2021, Tennessee passed a law allowing permitless carry for adults 21 and over. A recent decision by the attorney general may soon pave the way for 18- to 20-year-olds to do the same.

Tennessee Is A Signature Away From Letting Most People Carry A Handgun With No Permit
