The age limit for permitless carry could drop to 18, as Tennessee’s AG sides with gun rights

Permitless carry, sometimes referred to as constitutional carry, allows an individual to carry a gun without undergoing background checks or training. In 2021, Tennessee passed a law allowing permitless carry for adults 21 and over. A recent decision by the attorney general may soon pave the way for 18- to 20-year-olds to do the same.

Republicans are proposing their own exceptions to Tennessee’s abortion ban, but a defense attorney says they don’t go far enough

Republicans are attempting to amend the state’s strict abortion law. One bill would allow abortions to save the life of the pregnant person. The other would add some exceptions for rape and incest. But one lawyer believes the legislation doesn’t go far enough.
