Nearly three weeks after George Floyd was killed by a Minneapolis police officer, Nashvillians still filled the streets this weekend, calling for change to policing policies, city budgets and which figures should be honored at the state capitol. Multiple protests happened over the weekend, and they turned out demonstrators of all ages.

The Murfreesboro Police Department says it was trying to disperse a crowd that had blocked an intersection. A building and an armored vehicle were vandalized, and two people were arrested for violating an emergency curfew order.

Former White House Economic Adviser Says Tennessee Unemployment Will Get Worse Before It Gets Better

Tennessee’s unemployment rate is the worst it’s been in a generation, and reflects the most sudden loss of jobs on record, state officials say. The April unemployment rate was 14.7%, which matches the national figure.
